What is the Reciclando Project?
The Reciclando Project is an initiative by Ecobraz Emigre, the world's largest NGO dedicated to electronic waste recycling and carbon offsetting through recycling. Our goal is to transform discarded electronic equipment into opportunities for digital inclusion in underprivileged communities.
Through responsible recycling, we identify functional electronic devices, refurbish them, and repurpose them to create technology centers in vulnerable areas. These centers provide access to technology, digital training, and educational opportunities for children, teenagers, and adults.
How Does It Work?
- Collection and Sorting: We receive discarded electronic equipment from businesses and individuals. Items are sorted, and those still functional undergo maintenance.
- Reuse and Setup: The refurbished equipment is used to establish new technology centers, equipping computer labs, digital libraries, and vocational training spaces.
- Donation to Communities: The beneficiary communities receive fully equipped technology centers, ready to provide internet access, courses, and training programs.
- Social and Environmental Impact: In addition to promoting digital inclusion, the project reduces electronic waste and offsets carbon emissions, directly contributing to environmental conservation.
