Ecobraz, the reverse logistics management entity established in accordance with Law No. 12.727/2012 and in line with the practices set out in the National Solid Waste Management Information System (SINIR), is issuing a public call for manufacturers interested in co-financing regional recycling centers in Brazil. This program aims to strengthen reverse logistics and expand the value chain for recycling electronic equipment, promoting environmental sustainability.
The Reference Framework for Reverse Logistics establishes that manufacturers, importers, distributors and traders have shared responsibility for the life cycle of products. In this way, setting up and maintaining regional recycling centers guarantees compliance with the targets set out in the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS), which is governed by the Law No. 12.305/2010.
Regional hubs represent an effective strategy for decentralizing the receiving, sorting and recycling processes, reducing logistical costs and increasing operational efficiency. In addition, these hubs promote local development through job creation and specialized technical training. Collaboration between manufacturers via co-financing enables greater investment in infrastructure and innovation in technological recycling processes.
Ecobraz's invitation to the manufacturing sector reinforces their active participation in fulfilling their environmental obligations under current legislation, boosting the positive impact on reducing improper disposal and improving effective recycling rates. Shared financial cooperation allows for the dilution of costs and increased access to centers equipped with technologies for the proper processing of electronic waste.
Regional recycling hubs must include infrastructure for the scheduling for e-waste collection, segregated areas for the safe storage of incoming materials and equipment for the disassembly and separation of components, including the safe processing of safe disposal of hard drives and media, ensuring compliance with technical standards related to information security and data protection.
In addition to helping mitigate the environmental impacts of incorrectly disposing of electronic waste, the hubs encourage the circular economy and the recovery of recyclable materials. This initiative also meets the parameters of the CETESB Environmental Commitment and international guidelines on combating waste and soil and water contamination.
The co-financing of regional recycling hubs promoted by Ecobraz represents an evolution in the sustainable management model for electronic waste in Brazil. The adherence of manufacturers is crucial to the success of the system and compliance with legal requirements, fostering socio-environmental responsibility and efficiency in reverse logistics operations.
By choosing our services, you are contributing to a greener and cleaner future. In addition, you can be sure that your electronic waste will be disposed of properly, without harming the environment.
