The Travelling Electronics Museum: bringing tech history to shopping centres and events

Ecobraz is seeking partners to display its physical collection in shopping centres, festivals and companies, turning memory into environmental education.

Every month we receive messages like this one:
“My son saw the rotary telephone in the Virtual Electronics Museum and wanted to use a real one. Is that possible?”

Today the answer is: almost.

As a columnist for Ecobraz Informa and a collections agent at Ecobraz, I work every day with the real physical collection that feeds our Virtual Electronics Museum — more than 3,500 items: old computers, radios, telephones, cameras and games consoles that were once discarded, but which we preserve with care.

Yet we know that an image on a screen is no substitute for direct contact. The weight of a CRT, the click of a rotary dial, the sound of a cassette tape — these experiences create emotional connections that transform awareness.

That is why we are preparing the Travelling Electronics Museum — a project that will bring this physical collection to:
Shopping centres (in communal squares or exhibition halls);
Music and cultural festivals (in sustainability tents or educational areas);
Companies and universities (for ESG training or themed weeks);
Technology and environmental fairs (with audiences aligned to the theme).

How it will work:
Modular exhibitions (from 20 to 100 m²), set up with safety and accessibility in mind;
Original items (protected against improper handling, but fully visible);
Information panels covering historical context, environmental impact and recycling potential;
QR codes linking to the Virtual Museum for further exploration;
A symbolic collection area for donating old equipment on site.

Why partnerships?
The collection already exists. So does the logistics for collection and transport. What we need is:
Physical spaces provided or sponsored;
Operational support (assembly, security, local promotion);
Partners who believe in environmental education as a differentiator.

Benefits for shopping centres, brands and events:
Authentic content
that generates organic engagement (it is not just decoration);
Sustainability differentiation with measurable educational action;
A more engaged audience that stays longer on site;
Concrete alignment with ESG, not merely symbolic;
A social legacy, with free access for state schools on specific days.

If your company, shopping centre or event wants to offer more than consumption — to offer knowledge, memory and responsibility — we have the collection, the structure and the passion to make it happen.

Now we need partners to open the doors.

Columnist's note: I have already carried dozens of technology pieces in the truck — not as waste, but as history. If your space would like to host that history for a while, I am ready to bring it.
